Junior members whom attended the March meeting night got to practice using the Lucas 3 CPR device. LVAC currently has 2 of these CPR devices we try to take on any cardiac arrests or calls where a cardiac arrest may occur. This device in service at LVAC has help us see an increase in Cardiac Arrest saves. Junior Members got to use the device and ask questions of our crew on Cardiac Arrest Calls.

Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. has decided effective January 1, 2022 to no longer have an explorer post under the traditional explorer post brand of the Boy Scouts of America. Junior Membership will be for anyone ages 14-21 interested in going into the medical field.

Junior Members meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 7pm. Advisors are Nancy Revelas, Angela Brooder and Jonathan Hunter. Nancy has been an LVAC member for 45 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the group, Angela is a Lancaster High School teacher who runs a health care academy for the LHS Students who apply and Jonathan is a Elder with his Grandfathers church and is a former member turned advisor. The Three advisor run a combination of Classroom, Skills Demos, Hands on Skills sessions and fun learning techniques to make the Juniors program both fun and educational . Also qualified staff members mentor eligible Junior members with ride shadowing experiences to learn how to become an EMS provider in their educational endeavors with the group.

Members are subject to N95 fit tested to wear masks to reduce their exposure to COVID and other various airborne diseases, however all care is taken to try to keep our Juniors out of harms way on calls.
