LVAC and the Town of Lancaster Office of Emergency Management raised $640.39 in cash donations, two $10 Tops gift cards, 14 frozen turkeys and many hundreds of pounds of food for Trinity Food Pantry in Lancaster during a food drive held Nov. 17.
Volunteers accepted nonperishable food items, cash and toiletries at two sites — the D&L Plaza Tops and Walmart at Transit & Losson in Lancaster.
“It’s just so nice,” Betsy Moll, director of the Trinity Pantry, told the Metro newspaper. “We get a lot of wonderful things from the Food Bank of Western New York, but when people buy things. They pick special things to give and that’s kind of nice for the holidays.”
LVAC members who helped make the food drive a success included Gabe Casucci, Bob Cuillo, Nancy Franjoine, Kyle Haniszewski, Greg Jankiewicz, Bob Kelly, Todd Okoniewski, Andy Parker, Larry Pohl, Chester Popiolkowski, Joe Popiolkowski, Amanda Popiolkowski, Bill Revelas, Nancy Revelas, Alli Revelas, Amy Revelas, Kyle Rzeszutek, Joe Sledz, Ron Stock, Paul Welker, Rosemary Will and Donna Wypych. LVAC Explorers included Jonathan Hunter, Jeanenne Thoman, Alyssa Fox, Will Knapp and Elena Armitage.
