LVAC members attended Depew Night Out on Aug. 2.

It has been a busy month so far for LVAC’s officers, volunteer members, career staff, trainees and Explorers who have been on stand by at large-scale events in Lancaster and Depew.
On Aug. 2, LVAC members were on hand for Depew Night Out in Firemen’s Park, which is part of the annual National Night Out Against Crime. The event featured demonstrations from several local law enforcement agencies and first responders including LVAC, which offered tours of its new ambulance to the public.

LVAC’s new Emergency Bike Unit was also present and the Explorers conducted free blood pressure checks.
Aug. 6 was a busy day in downtown Lancaster with a foot race, the annual Taste of Lancaster and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament ongoing throughout the day. LVAC was on hand all day to provide first aid and hospital transportation if necessary.
LVAC members received many positive comments and thank yous from the public for its presence at these events. People particularly noted members’ dedication, commitment and passion for LVAC and the communities it serves.
“We have shown the community that we are here and we are ready,” said LVAC secretary Amanda Popiolkowski.
